Enid Surha
Enid is a proud descendant of the Nywaigi (Ingham), Manbarra (Palm Island), and Yidinji (Atherton Tablelands) Aboriginal First Nations Peoples. With over 20 years of experience working in various roles in Townsville, Enid has established herself as a respected leader and advocate for her community.
Enid has held leaderships roles as Chair of Townsville First Nations Community Council, Member of Elders for Change, Delegate of Justice Galbidera Way Working Group, Member of Townsville Suicide Prevention Network Group, and Former Director & Chair of Mungalla Aboriginal Corporation for Business for 5 years.
As well as leadership roles, Enid has also spearheaded the following community initiatives:
Co-Founder, Inspire/Inclusion on Country (International Women's Day celebrations)
Creator, Coordinator, and Facilitator, First Nations Domestic Violence Women's Group and Yarn Up Circles for First Nations young girls.
Co-Founder, Deadly Families are Happy Safe and Strong – Family Fun Day 2013-2019 (Domestic & Family Violence Month)
Enid possesses knowledge and practice in the following areas:
