Townsville First Nations Community Council (TFNCC) is a collective group of passionate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people that implements leadership to ‘create and make space’ in decision-making process for First Nations people.
Our goal is to facilitate community-driven change through collaborative relationships with government and stakeholders to improve social, cultural, environmental, and economic outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the community.
The Role Of The TFNCC

We will achieve this through a Voice to Action on behalf of the community using the following:

The TFNCC will engage with Government department leads and stakeholders regarding the community's perspectives, and thoroughly identify any gaps or deficiencies in the existing services provided, with the aim of developing a more effective and responsive approach to addressing these needs.
Our Key Priorities
Economic Development & Infrastructure
The Council actively promotes economic development and infrastructure growth by ensuring culturally sensitive services, fostering equitable procurement, and advocating for Indigenous-led initiatives.
Youth Engagement
The Council facilitates youth engagement through inclusive decision-making processes and tailored initiatives, empowering young people and amplifying their voices within the community.
Holistic Health & Well Being
The Council advances holistic health and well-being by championing culturally safe services, facilitating community-driven initiatives, and fostering partnerships to address social determinants of health, promoting thriving communities.
Sustainable Housing
The Council supports sustainable housing by advocating for inclusive housing policies, promoting community-led housing initiatives, and fostering partnerships to address housing needs, ensuring equitable access to safe and affordable housing options
